DEPOT CHARGING

Start every day charged.

For return-to-base fleets, charging can become part of the normal operating cycle. Bring the truck back, plug in and put energy back into the battery while the vehicle would otherwise be parked.

Morning

Start charged

Begin the working day with the truck ready for its planned route.

Working day

Deliver

Put the truck to work across predictable metro and fleet applications.

Return

Back to base

Bring the vehicle back to its depot or home base at the end of the route.

Downtime

Plug in

Connect to the 20kW GTP DC charger while the truck is parked.

Next shift

Ready again

Use planned depot downtime to put energy back into the truck before the next shift.

CHARGING PERFORMANCE

Charge when you stop.

ENERGY RECOVERY

Energy that doesn't go to waste.

JAC EV uses regenerative braking to recover energy that would otherwise be lost through braking and deceleration, returning it to the battery.

CruiseEnergy can be recovered during deceleration when travelling at a steady speed.
BrakeStronger regeneration occurs under braking as the kinetic energy recovery system assists the conventional brakes.
ECO modeThe strongest regenerative assistance can be useful on longer descents and helps reduce reliance on friction braking.

A LITTLE KIWI ATTITUDE

Zero emissions given.

A cleaner commercial truck doesn't need to be boring. JAC EV delivers zero tailpipe emissions while driving, quiet electric operation and the practicality to get on with the job.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

JAC EV charging FAQs.

The key questions fleets ask when they start planning the truck and charging solution together.

How far can a JAC EV truck travel?

JAC EV trucks have demonstrated 200km+ of loaded real-world driving in New Zealand. Actual range varies with payload, body configuration, route, terrain, temperature, driving style and other conditions.

How large is the battery?

The JAC EV platform uses a 106.95kWh liquid-cooled Lithium-Iron-Phosphate battery.

Are JAC electric trucks suitable for last-mile delivery?

Yes. JAC electric trucks are well suited to predictable urban and last-mile delivery routes, particularly return-to-base fleets that can recharge at a depot. Suitability depends on route length, payload, body configuration and charging access.

What charging connector does JAC EV use?

The JAC EV range uses CCS2, also known as CCS Type 2.

How quickly can it charge?

JAC specifies approximately 42 minutes from 20% to 80% state of charge when charging at 91kW. Actual charging time will vary with charger output, battery state, temperature and installation conditions.

Can I drive a JAC EV on a Class 1 licence?

Yes. The 5,990kg N60 EV and 7,500kg N75 EV are both offered as Class 1 vehicles. The 9,000kg N90 EV requires a Class 2 licence.

What charger does Southpac offer for JAC EV trucks?

Southpac offers the GTP TP-EVPD020KS, a 20kW DC charger with a single CCS2 connector in a standalone fleet configuration.

How do I start a charging session?

The selected GTP configuration supports simple Plug-and-Charge operation as well as RFID card authorisation for controlled fleet access.

Do I need a charging management platform?

No. The standard Southpac configuration is designed for private depot charging and can operate standalone without a third-party charging backend.

What warranty does the GTP charger have?

The GTP charger includes a 3-year standard warranty.

What electrical supply will the GTP charger require?

Final site electrical supply and installation requirements will be confirmed once the full TP-EVPD020KS technical datasheet is available.

Can the charger be installed outdoors?

The final installation environment and weather rating will be confirmed from the GTP product specification.

Is the GTP charger included with a JAC EV truck?

No. The GTP charger is sold separately and can be added to your JAC EV quote if required. Let the JAC team know you need a charger and we’ll include the charging solution in your quote.
